In today’s global change in technology, every individual depends on things to make almost everything possible and easy in a fastest and effective way especially when communication is on hand.

Decades back, telephone is most commonly used for landline long distance communication which uses phone switching technology. Then mobile phone was introduced with dual functionality; for text messaging and voice calls. The internet also offers chatting and instant messaging communication; and even internet-to-internet voice chat with the utilization of headphones, sound cards and speakers.

To satisfy the demand of technology, VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) technology was introduced to make PC-to-PC connection possible; and later phone-to-phone connection that change the traditional telephony into IP telephony. According on the site (http://www.roseindia.net/voip/voip-history.shtml), VoIP works through broadband technology and uses the World Wide Web to direct its calls.

Though VoIP come out to the market, only few are knowledgeable of it. Many individuals have not heard of VoIP and its functions. It had been out in the business world since prepaid calling cards were introduced. Caller IDs used VoIP technology which is present in telephones used in homes and businesses today. Call centers are one of the user and providers of VoIP.

Many VoIP providers offer the use of VoIP technology and other telecommunication services with VoIP applications. Telecommunication industry is wide spreading. Phones with VoIP are commonly in used; but consumers were not aware of the issues related to the VoIP technology.

Since, Voip uses internet in order to function and deliver voice messages to various recipients. Depending on the internet means depending to the power of electricity. If there is a power outage, which means there, is no VoIP; and this instance can hinder VoIP call integrity and security. Internet nowadays is an attack-prone to hackers and also VoIP. Hacking the internet can make VoIP vulnerable to this attackers and threats; and is more prone to not secure phone calls and voice messages.

Further, attackers and threats may come everywhere at any given time; geniuses which past-time is to prank someone over the internet and send messages that are believable to the victims. Others use codes to implement hacking to one’s privacy; and some interrupt the connection between the caller and the recipient.

Consider the political intrigue the Philippine President got into during the 2004 presidential elections. The Presidential call was wire-tapped and was recorded; and later was engaged in controversy and was familiarized by the Filipino masses as the “Hello Garci” scandal. VoIP also can be picture-out like this.
Thus, it is important to provide adequate information in the context of awakening the community about VoIP and its related issues.

However, in propelling this opportunity, further reading is required; and research is essential.

Can Research be Done in 22 Days?

Could it be possible?

I am enrolled in a subject CS Research this semester and we are required to make a research proposal for the whole semester. But only 22 days left for me to be able to finish and submit my research work. Can I do it with that span of time?

I am Superb if I could do it... hahaha!

I think for my own good and for me to pass the subject, I will take any privilages that comes my ways in order to complete my tasks before my research deadline. I think I can do it. With the 15 pages of research paper, with the 75 or above reading about my topic plus the related issues and literatures plus the surveys and online searches...

Hmmm....I think I can do it...

Resources for research are available everywhere. the only thing that lacks is funding. money, money, money....that's always the issue in doing research. Financial funding...

But I am determined to finish my research and pass the said subject.

I am superb and I can do it!

To be or Not To be Judge

I've been a young mother just lately. At the age of 20, and in that age I found out that such responsibility is truly not a joke and should be seriously taken. I accepted reality that I have now obligations not only in myself but to my child and to his father. I was never turned down by my family and friends since they have understood the situation.

But I have a question, why does women younger than my age got pregnant so early? should they be judge by the society? Or the society should help them understand the consequences of being young parents? What do you think?

Method VS. Methodology: What's the difference?

Sometimes we do not know what is the correct meaning of a word and when are they gonna be used. But in the matter of research, we use the terms methods and methodology in many aspects. The question is: do we really know the use and meaning of method and methodology?

Lots of search engines are available in the internet, and all of them give the same meaning and understanding. Method is a technique, ways or means to accomplish something; or step by step procedure to solve a particular problem. Thus, method is a step or procedure of something to be done systemically.

While, methodology is derived from the root word method which means a set of procedures or steps engaged in a discipline; it is an accurate meaning of method. Therefore, methodology is the study of methods that deals with assumptions underlying the research process.

For further understanding, consider the example and its explanation from wikipedia.com, ' "Since students were not available to complete the survey about academic success, we changed our methodology and gathered data from instructors instead". In this instance the methodology (gathering data via surveys, and the assumption that this produces accurate results) did not change, but the method (asking teachers instead of students) did.'

The example is crystal clear and understandable enough. Based from the definitions given and from the example, the differences between the method and methodology have been modified.

Review on Digital Computer: Impact to the Social Sciences

The "Digital Computer: Impact on the Social Sciences" is a reflection article by Ms. Julaysa Halilio. The article is all about how computer affects other sciences aside from Informaton Technology and on how it is indicated as advantage and disadvantage in other Social Sciences. But according to the article, there were no disadvantages of computers in the records but merely hypotheses. The disadvantages are still to be found and undergone many experimentations.

Mostly, computers are rather helpful than harmful; because most of the time and situations, humans do depends on computers in their works. It will only be called harmful if computers are being overused and are not used correctly and rightfully.

Nowadays, computers are widely used to assist students and professionals in research studies and teaching. Computers make hassle work easy and fast; and sometimes with the new technologies it makes other works hands-free. Works that inquire more man power are now being substituted by computers. Digital Computers are useful for people especially for students like me and Ms. Halilio. Digital computers provide the informations we needed in our future researches. Aside from that, we also gain knowledge from informations stored in the several online databases. We could also share our knowledge by posting through blogging.

Over-all, computers are really a big help for human beings unless not overused.
